One of my favouite Honey comics :D

Contest Time!

As you may know, I've launched the first official Honey the Healing Fairy fanart (or other) contest!

Here are the rules:
- Your work must include Honey, and/or one of the other characters featured in the comic series (eg Gary, Bob, Terry, Leslie, Milo, people yet to arrive XD...etc)
- You can enter as many submissions as you like, but there will be only one person per placing (ie, you cannot win both second and third place)
- You must comment or note me with a link when you're done so I know you're entering.

All entries are due no later than December 31st, 2009. The winners will be announced a week or two after that, and prizes dispensed whenceforth.

Prizes:
1st: 3 month sub and free commission
2nd: 1 month sub and free commission
3rd: Free commission

I'm giving you plenty of time, as I know many of you have school, and also there are certain future characters who haven't been revealed yet, who you may like to feature. Also, it gives me a chance to release more of my own pictures of characters so you have something more to go on than simple finger-puppet people...if you're looking for a more realistic style, that is.

It’s all good fun, so what are you waiting for? Get out there and create some fanart!

Countdown...

Finally Done :D

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 20, 2009, 6:44 PM

Yes, my first year of Uni is officially over (assuming I pass everything, which I’m fairly confident I will)
It’s so awesome to be done.

(Holy shit, I’m gone 2 days and 119 messages??? Geeze. Someone misses me XD (…we’ll just ignore the fact that 85 of those messages were journals… )

I would’ve done this journal yesterday, but it was an afternoon exam so I didn’t get home until 5:30, and then we decided to go out for dinner to celebrate. We went to my favourite restaurant, the Red Rock Noodle Bar. XD Pud Thai is the best.
And then when I got home I decided to play some Assassin’s Creed. It was cool. I finished the poor district of Jerusalem. And did a totally awesome stealth kill on my target XD He was too busy boasting to the crowd about how he was going to execute these people (these poor innocent people. I was totally saving them), and then I snuck up behind him and BAM (…lol, I just realised that totally has sexual connotations XD hehehe). T’was fun. Now I have to go back to the first mission and do those mini missions I missed (because it took me a while to get used to the game initially), so I can complete the DNA bar. Yes, I’m a completionist. I’m also determined to get all the flags and kill at the Templars. I don’t know if I’ll be able to get some of the more insane achievements (like last 10 minutes in a fight. I mean, come on, 10 minutes!?), but I’ll do what I can.
And once I do all that, I’ll buy the sequel. After I finished watching the promotionary series (Assassin’s Creed; Lineage), I’m even more enthusiastic about the game. And apparently my mum got an email from Paypal offering the game (as well as some others) for a super cheap price (about $69.95), which is amazing. So I’m going to make sure she takes that up. That’s a good $30 off the retail price. Amazing.

Also something I did yesterday was watch the season finale of one of my favourite New Zealand shows, called Go Girls. I’ve gotta say, it’s really lifted my opinion of New Zealand. Not that I hated them or anything, I just used to think they were strange. But seeing shows like Go Girls and Captain X and his Amazing Super Friends has shown me that they’re really just normal people…with strange accents.
At the very least, it’s shown me they make good TV. XD
I hope they make a second season. Go Girls was awesome. (go look it up if you’re interested)

But one thing I like about the show, is the premise of 4 friends making a promise each to themselves, to do something by the next year. Cody wants to get married, Amy wants to be rich, Bretta wants to be famous and Kevin wants Amy, but he can’t tell her that so he says he want’s this high-tech steering wheel (he works with Cody as a mechanic. Car stuff). And the whole show is about them trying to achieve their goals and the various obstacles in their way. What I love the best it Kevin and his attempts to tell Amy how he feels, while sitting back and torturing himself, by watching her go through relationship after relationship. In the end he tells her, but she takes it the wrong way and thinks he means he loves in her in a friend way. Which sucks for Kev because you could see him trying to build up the courage to say something. Poor bloke. She’s completely oblivious.
But the whole promise/goal thing got me thinking. And I’ve decided to set my own goal to do in a year. Kind of like a new years resolution, but on I actually plan on sticking to.

My goal to achieve for this time next year is to finish the first draft of Almost Super. Oprah’s quitting TV after 2011, and if I want to get that book interview with her like I’ve always dreamed, I’ll have to get cracking.

So, you can join me if you like. What do you want to achieve by this time next year?

And now, another reminder for the Honey the Healing Fairy Fanart contest. Entries close December 31st, and I’ve already had 2 submissions. I really hope I get more. Those prizes aren’t going to wait around forever.

And that’s it from me for now. I might to play more Assassin’s Creed.

Later

(ps. I just made the world's best cookies. Jealous much?)
